Connor’s Heart is a New Mexico based nonprofit dedicated to helping people all over the country and world recover from fentanyl and opiate addiction and to save lives through the sharing of vital lifesaving information, treatment, and testing kits.
The organization was founded by Lisa and Lance Keltner.
Lisa works in the addiction recovery industry and Lance has enjoyed a 40-year career in the music industry.
The two lost Lisa’s son, Connor, to fentanyl poisoning in July of 2022. They have decided to dedicate their lives by using their skill sets and connectivity to raise awareness by producing musical events all around the country. Those events will raise capital that will be used to sponsor treatment for individuals who are addicted to fentanyl, who need and want help, and to also pay for vending machines that contain free doses of Narcan to help save people from fentanyl poisonings and death and test kits.
The live music proceeds will be used to help people in the area where the shows are produced. Our hope is that these events will raise awareness, and raise funds to help community members in need begin recovery.
Lance Keltner will use his connectivity in the music industry to bring well known artists into the Connor’s Heart event schedules.
Lisa will use her connectivity in the addiction and rehabilitation community to help connect victims of this drug with the providers that can help them recover.
Connor’s Heart will produce these events on an ongoing basis until Fentanyl poisonings and deaths are no longer an issue in our country.
At this time, we have many top recording artists and film stars interested in being part of the solution with Connor’s Heart.
Our first concerts will take place in Austin, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, NYC, and New Orleans.
Our mission is motivated solely around healing and helping the hardest hit families and communities in our country and the world.
Stay tuned for more events!
Lisa Keltner is a business development professional in the substance abuse industry who thrives on helping families in need of treatment for their loved ones by meeting them where they are. She understands where they are coming from and works to help them navigate through those difficult times. After losing her own son, Connor, in July of 2022 to fentanyl, this work has become even more meaningful. She is passionate about transforming lives from drugs and alcohol across the country.
She has worked with emergency medicine physicians to help grow the addiction medicine market in Austin with a freestanding emergency room in Central Austin. She really excelled at building relationships with those in the field throughout Austin and the state of Texas, and learned how good people can make bad decisions but can also turn their lives around through treatment and the support of those in the community. Some of the most beautiful and authentic people she's encountered are in recovery.
After moving to Santa Fe, New Mexico, she began working for those in need of physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy while learning about the dynamics of the state. Lisa currently works as the Director of Community Relations for Vista Taos Renewal Center, a long-standing boutique substance abuse treatment program in Taos. She will be pursuing her master's in counseling in the coming months in order to add that clinical piece to her skillset.
She has a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University in College Station, and a Master’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign.
Tina Schweiger is a social scientist, entrepreneur, and fine artist. She is the founder and head Growth Coach at Spoonbend, and co-founder of Feelalytics.
From 2002 – 2014 she founded and ran a boutique design, branding & marketing agency. She sold the business to a larger marketing firm in 2014.
She studies human emotion and how we can describe, experience, and measure this phenomenon that is so unique to each individual. She designed a way to quantify the emotional experience and developed a model for how attitudes and emotions can be categorized and how they relate to each other. With that, she designed a path from emotional apathy towards resilience and thriving. She applies this to technology innovations through Feelalytics.
She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of Texas at Austin, and a Master's Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Harvard.
Hello, my name is Derrin Bell. I served in the U.S. Army Infantry from 512.413.5669. I have one deployment to Iraq in 2010 and I was medically discharged with an honorable status. I began working in the nonprofit sector as a volunteer in 2014. I have dabbled in everything from animal advocacy to receptionist to washing dishes in the local soup kitchen, sitting on the board of a veteran nonprofit organizations as a chairperson and the residential director for a veteran housing program. I have been in recovery from addiction and mental health disorders since 2015. I landed my first paid position at a residential treatment facility as a house manager in 2018. It was not until I participated in my first “recovery coaching” course in 2019 through CCAR that I found my new calling. I have always been passionate about helping others, but I could never really settle down and focus until I found this peer focused pathway of recovery. I have formal college level education and training in addiction counseling and social work.
I have been mentored by amazing individuals that specialize in motivational interviewing and solution focused therapy. I am very enthusiastic when it comes to learning about new pathways of recovery. I believe that the best way to help someone discover their pathway of recovery is through a holistic lens catered to their needs as a whole person, developing and achieving personal goals focused on every dimension of wellness. I have held other credentials such as qualified mental health associate, qualified mental health professional, recovery mentor, recovery coach and peer support specialist. I love working in the emergency depart as a peer support specialist!
Other fun facts about me... I have two daughters 11 and my oldest just turned 21 in January which was terrifying lol. My most favorite place in the world is the Pacific Northwest. I love almost any type of water activity such as free diving, pole spear fishing, snorkeling, paddle boarding, surfing (well trying to at least), and my ultimate favorite cliff jumping. I lost a lot of people here growing up in Albuquerque to this disease of addiction and other mental health issues… I am here today to let you know that this is personal, and I will do my best to make amends to our lost loved ones and myself by working in the Presbyterian emergency department to try and help as many people as possible.
